Grandpa Jos reads stories to his grandchildren every week. And now he also reads at Laaktheater Thuis. This week: “Repelsteeltje” (Rumpelstiltskin).
A miller has a daughter of whom he is so proud that he claims she can do anything; even spin gold from straw. When the king hears this, he demands that she do this for him. She is locked in a room with straw and is allowed one night to prove herself to the king. If she fails, she will be killed. That night, Rumpelstiltskin comes along and promises to help her in exchange for her necklace, only then will he spin the gold from straw for her.
