Anita Poolman tells a story about a little deer named Kantjil, the Honored Snail and Patih Pinter: it’s about the jungle behind the jungles and the visible and invisible things in life.

On Friday, January 28th, 2011, protests were called all over Egypt asking for the step down of Mubarak's Regime. This came after 3 days of unprecedented demonstrations in the country against the 30 years rule of Hosni Mubarak. As the Regime decided to shut down all internet and mobile phone lines, protestors followed the proposal to gather at mosques and start the protests right after friday prayers. In Cairo, the goal was to march to Tahrir from several points and end up protesting at the Square. This movie gathers the footage filmed 10 years ago following one of this marches toward Tahrir Square

Two people. Two different worlds. He is a hermit and a reindeer herder. His home is mountains and taiga covered with snow. He depends only on himself, because his life is absolute freedom. She is a resident of Rome, devotes almost all of her time to work and travels around Italy only for a short time of rest. Their worlds are so different that it seems that there can be nothing in common between them. But they both know how quickly life changes.

Grandpa Jos reads stories to his grandchildren every week. And now he also reads at Laaktheater Thuis. This week: “Repelsteeltje” (Rumpelstiltskin).

Laaktheater Thuis is the digital platform of Laaktheater. Laaktheater is the theatre of district Laak. We want to bring art and culture closer to the people. Just around the corner, in our theatre you can see and experience art and get involved in many different ways. With Laaktheater Thuis we come to you in your living room. You can watch performances, documentaries and take part in art classes on your mobile phone, computer or iPad.

This is one of the ways we want to make art personal. As Laaktheater we want to make the programme with people who are eager to share their love for culture; their love of film, photography, (youth) theatre or music.

Our programme is created by people with ideas who just drop in and we also meet people with ideas in the neighbourhood. And all these people with all these ideas together result in a wonderful programme that we are incredibly proud of.

Would you like to contribute to our (digital) programme? Then send us an e-mail at: sigrid@laaktheater.nl or info@laaktheater.nl. Then together we can explore what and how we can do something for Laak.
